The Under 12s were the first to take to the start line. Lewis Ridge riding for Palmer Park Velo, took the lead from the beginning. After finishing third last week, Lewis had his eyes on the prize and by the end of the race had managed to secure a 26 second lead from Oliver Shears in second place. Aimon Youslf battled on to round off the podium in third.
Next was the turn of the Under 16s. Last week's winner Toby Houghton was back to defend his title for Fareham Wheelers, but had to settle for third place this time. The race for the top step of the podium turned out to be an epic battle. By the third lap Jamie Gostick and Angus Beggins had broken away from the chasing pack and were scrapping for the lead. It came down tot he line and Jamie snatched the win for Palmer Park Velo by just 0.7 seconds, leaving Angus to take an extremely well deserved second place for Bicester Millennium Cycling Club.
The ladies were next to take to the course. Over the duration of the race Kate Robson steadily pulled out a commanding lead and crossed the line to take her first ever Cyclocross victory for Pedalon. Jessica Burman rode a well measured race, to come home in second place for Cotswold Veldrijden. Third place was hotly contested between Teresa Robbins and Hazel Wakefield. After trading places numerous times during the course of the race, Teresa found a final surge of energy and used it to fly past her rival on the second to last lap and secure the final spot on the podium for Tri20 by a narrow margin of less than 2 seconds.
In a race with striking similarities to last week, Paul Lloyd stormed off the line in the men's race. Once again, Paul led from the front throughout the race, and after 10 laps of racing in slippery conditions, took the chequered flag almost 20 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, securing the win for Worx Bikes. Although we had the same podium contenders as last week, the final result was a little different. This time, Karl Norfolk had to concede second place to Crispin Doyle on the second lap. Despite near identical lap times, Crispin held on to finish in second for Hargroves Ridley Montezuma and Karl took third for Pedalon.
